According to mcmillianrunning.com my race time should be 4:08.... This is going off my best half marathon time of 1:58 and keeping a race pace of 9:30... Perhaps do-able. I was reading the holy Grail on the plane and it talked about joining a pace team during the race. This is something I very well may do. I know so many people say enjoy the first one, just be happy to finish. But I can't just finish. If I am going to do this, it may be my only chance to finish a marathon. Depending on my knees I may not get to another race, so I want to do the best I can. I am putting in a lot of pre race educating and training so I want to do the best my body will let me.
With it being thanksgiving, here is what my thankful list is: (happy thanksgiving everyone!)
1. Super family and friends, you all know who you are.
2. When I open the door and Hank the wonder dog is jumping up and down to see me.
3. Having a job.
4. Owning a house, even though I can NOT wait to sell it! :)
5. Vacation time
6. The first trip to the beach after a long Massachusetts winter.
7. How warm Ugg's keep my feet.
8. New gym socks. Love how they feel!
9. Good music. Yes "good" may differ from person to person :)
10. My "health". Asthma aside, I have been pretty lucky in this department, knock on wood!!!
11. New running clothes. Only because I never thought I'd be "that" person who owned real workout clothes. I lived in baggy tshirts and mesh shorts until about 2 years ago...
12. Sleeping in as late as I want.
13. Sam summer. Yes, after the snow is gone I look forward to the day the liquor store starts carrying this again :)
14. Cape cod
15. Laughing
16. Sunday cookouts, corn hole, grilling, and family every Sunday from memorial day until labor day.
17. Fall foliage
18. Finding the best gifts for someone.
19. Flip flops
20. Being good at multi tasking and scheduling, perhaps a bit of a type a but I'd rather that than be a mess!
21. Being able to have seen a lot of the USA, and traveling to the places I have been!
22. Boston. And being able to enjoy the city and sports teams associated with Boston... Even if people wear pink hats! Ha
23. And for having a "good life". Sure it's not perfect, and there are ups and downs, but I have been so fortunate for the life I have, especially compared to what others may have had to go through... Thank you to everyone who is or was a part of my life, you all had some part of where I am today. :)
