Take that dumb meat head wanna be boy at the gym! My favorite part of being at the gym is when the d-bags "check" you out and decide coming onto the treadmill right next to you will really impress you. Especially when you have been running for 20 minutes and dripping sweat, and he jumps on and tries to sprint it out to look like he is a cool runner. News flash, your not fooling anyone, especially since you lasted 6 minutes before getting off. Idiot.
So sunday I drank a slimfast before my run and it went well with not being hungry. Yesterday I had a my whey protein shake with banana and almond milk AND homemade meatloaf, mashed potatos, and corn before I went for my run... And I felt awesome! The moral of the story is I need to eat, a lot. Lol forget carbo loading the night before the race, I'm going to have to have my meal a half hour before I start! At the halfway point I will need my second course ;). Is this normal!? Geez. But I also ate well through out the day, I didn't have ANY junk- An egg with cheese for breakfast, spicy tuna sushi for lunch and a piece of bread, and then my shake and meatloaf dinner... Trust me, that for me is a very good day :)
I am starting to feel like I did 2 years ago when I used to run all the time. However this time I feel stronger. I actually have some muscle which is helping with my endurance, and I am actually educating myself about nutrition this time and how eating at the right time and amount will actually help me get a better workout in. Crazy to think huh? Ha. If anyone is wanting to run a marathon, or even a half, I recommend reading Hal Higdon's marathon training guide. Just saying :)
